If you’re planning to let out a property in Scotland, registering as a landlord is a legal requirement — and one of the first steps in getting things underway.

Registration is done through the Scottish Landlord Register and helps ensure that rental properties meet a basic standard of safety, compliance, and responsibility. You’ll need to provide some personal details, property information, and confirm that you’re a ‘fit and proper person’ to let.
